These shears are ideal to cut materials made from aramid, para-aramid fibers and  composites such as Kevlar®, Dyneema®, Vectran®, Spectra®, Technora®, Nomex®, Innegra®, Dacron and other blends made from fiberglass and carbon fiber in rope, ribbon, thread, tape and fabric form.  Its blades are made of high carbon alloy steel from Japan and are infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium (HRC 60~62) through a proprietary manufacturing process to achieve a level of hardness (HV1200) to cut high tech materials.  The ergonomically designed ear-shaped grips deliver more power with reduced fatigue and wrist strain - particularly in repetitive cutting.  The grips are designed to easily fit in the power portion of the hand to produce cleaner cut with less effort.  These shears can be used to cut materials made from carbon fiber, glass fiber, plastic, canvas, vinyl, leather, suede, leatherette, nylon, silk, cotton, for upholstery, headliner, cloth, sheet, filament, string or other knitted forms.

To cut composite-grade materials is a very difficult task.  These 6-1/4" shears are meant for precise and clean cuts into the material.  They can be used to make relief cuts during the lay-up process so reinforcements precisely fit in the mold.  Or cut stubborn threads hanging off the edge of fabric.  Or make small cuts for intricate parts.  The cutting performance is great across the length of the blade; in fact, the blades cut all the way to the tips for quick and accurate trimming.  They can also be used to make relief cuts during the lay-up process to fit the reinforcement into the mold.  Cut hanging fibers along the cutting edge of the fabric cleanly.    Also used for splicing all type of halyards, sheets, topping lifts, lazyjacks and control lines.  Cut fiber thread off the fiber optic cable neatly when installing connectors.

Sailmakers and riggers around the United States use these shears in their daily rigging projects to cut thin ropes, sleeves and tapes.
Fiber Optic cable fabricators and installers find the sharp cuts beneficial for terminations.

Special Features:
  • Ideal for trimming excess material from tooling edges or stray fibers from layup
  • Used for splicing all types of halyards, control lines, topping lifts
  • Short cutting blade length with fine point lends to accurate cuts on intricate parts
  • Tool of choice for fiber cable installers, fiber cable termination and repetitively cut Kevlar strengthener from fiber cables
  • Micro-serrated blade to grip material for non-slip cut
  • Sharp blade to shear fabric easily
  • Grips designed for comfortable repetitive cuts
  • Non-serrated blade can be sharpened to extend life
  • Extended tang for durability and efficient force transfer

Like 'em
I didn't think tools made in Taiwan were such good quality. I suppose it has to do with Japanese steel they are made of. The quality is top-notch. The cutting quality is same across the blade from tip to base. I have recommended it to my fellow professionals.

Nice easy cuts on any material
I need to make precise cuts in a variety of fabrics. The serrations make it easy to hold the material and allow more control over the cut. I like the light weight of the scissors. Strongly recommend.

Tough cuts made easy
I am an alarm technician for dealerships. These days wires are wrapped in rubber or dense synthetic fabrics. These shears cut through those materials easily even layers. I encounter other thick material and these work like champ. These are great scissors for a professional and I am very happy with them.

Top notch shears
Top notch quality. The cut is the same from the fulcrum to the edge. I needed a more pointed tip but these do a fine job. Highly recommended.
