Ascend Tools' heavy duty re-sharpenable big-bow utility shears cut heavy duty materials, and provide clean trims for items ranging from sailcloth, fiberglass, carbon fiber, rope (poly or nylon), canvas and leather to breather fabric, plastic, nylon, upholstery, craft materials, plastic, floral, soft wire and more. They feature long ultra-sharp blades ideal for cutting long swathers even through multiple layers of thick and heavy fabrics.
These shears are lightweight and have comfortable grip handles. It's blades are made of high carbon alloy steel from Japan and infused with Molybdenum and Vanadium through a proprietary manufacturing process to harden
the cutting blades (HRC 50-54) needed to cut high-strength materials. The ergonomically designed large grip-ring delivers
more power with reduced fatigue and wrist strain, especially in repetitive
cutting jobs. The grips are designed ergonomically to easily fit in
the power portion of the hand to produce cleaner cut with less effort. The larger loops allow fitting of large or gloved hands. One blade is micro-serrated to avoid slippage and the
other can be sharpened to extend life. The tang on the blades is long to provide cutting
efficiency. The bolted joint provides control over cutting different
types of materials.
Fabricators who use fiberglass and carbon fiber materials have replaced their current shears in favor of these premium quality 9-3/4" shears. These shears also come in long size, 11-3/8 inch, allowing a choice for a variety of applications.
