5-1/2" Multipurpose Electrical Shears - Cut / Strip Electrical Wire with Wire Cutting Notch, Crimp Wire, Clean/file Electrical Boxes

These are awesome shears. I've truly torture tested them. I use these everyday, they are part of my bag. Well worth the money.

I had purchased a pair of these electrical shears few months ago after using another brand for some time which used to wear out quickly and right when I had a new project I was looking at a dull pair. I decided to give Ascend Tools' pair a try. These are sharp in all the right places. They offer a rather truncated cutting surface, so the leverage on what you're cutting is excellent. The notch at the base of the blade cuts through wire without moving it and it is great for scoring the cable jacket and removing it without damaging the conductors. This is probably the nicest feature of these scissors. The ergonomics are great too. Occasionally I crimped wire and it worked fine. I haven't used the outer notch to remove burrs on gang boxes but it seems like it will do the job. A holster would be a nice addition to carry it in the field safely.

I was extremely impressed with these shears. The moment you open these shears, it is very obvious to tell that they are made of quality materials. They fit comfortably in your hand and remain comfortable through extended use; the grip is second to none! This product is extremely versatile and has all of the features you would expect for working with wires without a bunch of extra useless bells and whistles.

Working for UofOklahoma I do a lot of building maintenance. I have had these shears for 6months & they still feel like they are new. I have used them to cut 4 conductor 14 guage soft wire & they do a great job.

I tried them to cut low voltage wire. Rated upto 14/3 low voltage soft wire but I cut S00W 12/4 wire and it cut it easily. Stays sharp for a long time if not abused.

A friend is in data communication; he uses ATi-811 and promises by it. I bought and tried it; strongly recommended it.
